The Office of Diversity and Inclusion sponsors a wide variety of programs for students of all ages: K-12, Undergraduate, and Medical students.

In addition to the programs below, in collaboration with the Office of Admissions, ODI is starting the Pre-Medical Admissions Pathway (P-MAP) Program designed to help students who have experienced unique or greater than average challenges in preparing to become competitive medical school applicants and succeed in medical school. P-MAP students will be admitted to COM-T after successful completion of the program with satisfaction of the minimum performance metrics described below.

  • Med-Start: Residential summer program for high school juniors interested in health careers
  • Health Professions Fair: Health career exploration fair for high school students
  • Health Career Clubs: High schools throughout Arizona have health career clubs for students interested in health careers
  • PharmCamp: Summer program throughout Arizona for middle school students interested in Pharmacy
  • Summer Institute on Medical Ignorance: Research programs for High School students

  • FACES Conversantes: A service-learning course that provides bilingual Spanish-speaking students the opportunity to volunteer as medical interpreters
  • Global MedCats: An opportunity to receive language training and clinical experience in Costa Rica or Spain
  • Pre-Health Experiential Learning (MED 493A): A course designed to prepare you for a career as a health professional, including clinical shadowing experience

  • AZ Applicant Academy: An intensive one-day seminar for pre-medical students ready to apply to medical school

  • Mock MCAT: An opportunity to take a practice MCAT, offered several times per year
