Co-sponsored by the College of Medicine - Tucson and Banner Health, Doc Talks is a free lecture series for the Tucson community.

On Tuesday, Sept. 4, Irving L. Kron, MD, will present the first of four free lectures as part of the Doc Talks series. The cardiothoracic surgeon and former chairman of the University of Virginia Department of Surgery currently serves as senior associate vice president of the University of Arizona Health Sciences and interim executive dean of the UA College of Medicine - Tucson. Board certified in surgery, vascular surgery, and thoracic and cardiovascular surgery, Dr. Kron's specialties are adult cardiac surgery, pediatric cardiac surgery and peripheral vascular surgery. Dr. Kron has received numerous honors over the years, including America's Top Doctor Award and one of America's Top Surgeons awards.

Dr. Kron's lecture, "Valves R Us," will focus on valvular heart disease, its symptoms and the latest treatment options.

The lecture will commence at 6 p.m., but guests are encouraged to arrive early for a Wellness Expo featuring free skin UV damage analyses, osteoporosis tests and more.
