Dr. Murrain's Welcome Message
Welcome to the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson GME Diversity page. We are excited that you are considering continuing your education at our institution. The UACOM – T is dedicated to celebrating diversity, creating an environment of inclusive excellence where all members have a sense of equity and belonging as we seek to develop thriving and caring medical providers.
The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson is located in the southwestern region of the United States and sits on the original homelands of indigenous peoples who have stewarded this land since time immemorial. We recognize and acknowledge the people, culture and history that make up the Wildcat community. Recognizing this privilege, respect for all dimensions of diversity is essential to the successful attainment of our mission. We are committed to promoting health, improving wellness and diagnosing, and treating disease for all the people of Arizona and beyond, through innovation in education, research, and patient care.
An intentional culture of Inclusive Excellence creates role models, broadens perspectives, combats negative stereotyping and optimizes our ability to provide world-class health care for all. We engage in institution-wide trainings and dialogues to continually advance our institutional growth and healthcare advocacy. Collaboration and teamwork are also vital in ensuring our engagement with our clinical partner, Banner Health, whose mission is “Health care made easier, so that life can be better”.
We invite you to take a closer look at our institution and find your place with us.
Thank you,
Dr. Victoria E. Murrain
