Why did you choose your specific health professional career? When I was in high school, students were asked to participate in career-day activities. I thought about the conditions on my reservation and knew of the great need in my own community.
The Pre-Medical Admissions Pathway (P-MAP) Program is a 12-month, full-time, intensive medical school preparation program designed for students who have experienced greater than average challenges in preparing to become competitive medical school applicants. The program includes a Master of Science degree in Cellular & Molecular Medicine, customized academic plans and seminars. P-MAP students will be admitted to COM-Tucson after successful completion of the program. Application Deadline: November 3, 2014. Why did you choose your specific health professional career? When I was growing up, my parents told me, “Don’t be like us (being sheepherders), go to school and become a doctor.” That stuck in my head and has been a motivator for me to pursue a career in the healthcare profession.
