Uma Goyal, Assistant Professor, Radiation Oncology

 

Uma is from Phoenix, Arizona and became interested in medicine when she volunteered during the summers at Hoswell Hospital and watched her mother, who is a nurse, work to provide care and compassion to her patients. 

 

Q&A With Uma

What has your path been like to where you are now?

     Up and down. There has been success and failures. Just when you think everything is going one way, life changes the path.

What do you love most about what you are doing now?

     The patients. 

What are some of your outside interests?

      My family, travel, movies.

Did you have a mentor that contributed to your growth? Who was that mentor and what lessons did you learn from them? How did you find that person?

      My dad who always had the best outlook on things, even when it wasn't great.      

What advice would you give to students?

     Do what you can, you won't please everyone but be true to yourself. Strive to be the best you!
