Initiatives/Goals/Vision

  • Ensure the implementation of security measures on COMT
  • Recommend safety education for UACOMT
  • Assist in developing a rapid communication to students, residents, faculty, staff addressing instances of violence and threats
  • Establish plan for education about Banner P&P relating to Law Enforcement interactions
  • Implementation of a robust system for reporting and collecting student and faculty reports of racism and discrimination and developing policies

Short Term Actions/Accomplishments

  • Ensure the implementation of security measures on COMT
Installation of additional cameras, panic buttons, and new door with badge access
Will survey students, staff, residents, and faculty to identify areas in the COM which may benefit from having a Blue-Light Phone
 
  • Recommend safety education for UACOMT
Will hand select recommended UAPD safety education that would benefit our constituents best
Reach to the various committees to implementation of safety education training
  • Assist in developing a rapid communication to students, residents, faculty, staff addressing instances of violence and threats

Will touch base with the BEST committee over no UAHS representation.  Will invite to our next meeting.
Include someone from this committee on the 2nd level of notification

 

 
Long Term Actions/Accomplishments

 

  • Ensure the implementation of security measures on COMT
Installation of additional Blue-Light Phones if necessary
  • Recommend safety education for UACOMT
Evaluate quality and helpfulness of the safety education videos via feedback from our constituents
  • Assist in developing a rapid communication to students, residents, faculty, staff addressing instances of violence and threats
Standardize notification process. Will be responsible for general distribution of incidence occurrence
  • Establish plan for education about Banner P&P relating to Law Enforcement interactions
Will create summarized bullet points of current Banner P&P to provide to LE officials
  • Implementation of a robust system for reporting and collecting student and faculty reports of racism and discrimination and developing policies
Present action plan with new policies to the Dean’s Office. Emphasize need to make this a separate issue from professionalism misconduct
  • Establish plan for education about Banner P&P relating to Law Enforcement interactions
Improve interaction between LE and patients
  • Implementation of a robust system for reporting and collecting student and faculty reports of racism and discrimination and developing policies
Formation of a standalone committee that is in charge of determining the degree of racially biased incidents
Implementation of new policies that strongly discourage acts of racism
Collect data of number of racial incidences and run analysis in order to determine of newly implemented polices are working
